Her life-long passion for wellness and love of nature guided her to more natural ways of healing. After taking a soap-making class, she was introduced to essential oils. These oils are extracted from plants and have many beneficial properties. She quickly became fascinated with all aspects of essential oils. This led Gillian to become a certified Holistic Aromatherapist. This training involved an extensive study and use of essential oils as healing tools.

After her introduction to essential oils, Gillian had a dream where she was told that she was to become a "Soul Alchemist". When asked what soul alchemist meant, she was told that this involved connecting the essence or soul of a plant to the soul of an individual for healing and growth. She quickly realized the profound purpose of using essential oils in her soaps and products. This led to the birth of Eau de Sweetcheeks and more importantly, the fulfillment of her dream.
